Community Values And Social Issues

          What i learned in this unit are the values of my community and the social issues.I learned that the community is also the ones who are there to help you when your bad times comes around to hunt you down. I noticed that community will always support you no matter what. When Dayne Ortiz was missing and as soon as everyone found out they all went to search for him and they were always there to support the family and friends of Dayne Ortiz. The community came to the candle lighting and they even wear maroon to show there respect for the Ortiz family. I was even surprised to see some of the middle school student and all the other schools wearing maroon and even gathering together to say a word of prayer for the Ortiz family. That really put me in shock to see how one person can affect the community and how that community reacted fast to the problem.

     In this unit i learned about my family and the history. I learned where my parents and their parents came from and when they traveled to Hawaii. I also learned that i am related to some of my friends here at school. I learned that family will always be the ones who are there to help you get back up when you fall and no matter how irritating they can get they would always be your number one supporter in your life. I also learned that family is not only blood. Family could also be the ones who would do anything to see that smile on your face no matter what it is they have to do.

Gagana Ma Le Fa'asinomaga Language And The Identity

     In this unit i learned a lot about the Samoan language and Identity. What i learned about the language was how to speak the language and i also learned the value of the Samoan language. What i also learned about the Samoan language is that the Samoan language there is only one language and there are three types of way that we speak the language. The three ways are chiefly language, everyday language and the elderly language. What i have learned about the identity or the identity about myself is that my identity is shown by the way i do things my reactions my work and the things that i do. My identity is also shown in the way i respect others. A quote or saying that i found interesting and it also relates to me is found in the Bible. IN Proverbs 3:5-6 it says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge GOD and he will direct your path". I find this meaningful to me because i'm a person who loves to do things my way and the way that i want it to be done and i always think that i can do it all by myself and when i try i cant . But when i ask God to help me i always accomplish things. This is what i learned in unit two.

     In this unit I learned a lot about the history of Samoa and all the background of Samoa. I also learned how they lived back in the days and how they managed to accomplish things back then. I also learned how they had struggled in the days they were living and how the government controlled the island . I also learned the language and the meaning or the value of the language.
